Pokémon Delta Reign: dates, new features and preorder prices

When does the next Pokémon TCG set come out, and how much does it cost? Mega Evolution—Delta Reign hits stores on November 6, 2026, with prerelease tournaments starting October 24. On TCGplayer's preorder listings on September 28, 2026, the Elite Trainer Box already cost US$135.53 — almost twice what the ETB from Pitch Black, the previous set, is worth today.

The set brings back Mega Rayquaza ex and debuts Legendary Stadiums, Stadium cards in two halves. Below: what is official, what Japan already shows and what the prices say.

What is Mega Evolution—Delta Reign?

It is the new Pokémon TCG expansion, announced by The Pokémon Company International on August 20, 2026. According to the official announcement, it will have more than 135 cards, including more than 20 Trainer cards and more than 35 cards with special illustrations.

The highlights are four Mega Evolution Pokémon ex: Mega Rayquaza ex, Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex. According to The Pokémon Company, it is the first time Mega Rayquaza has appeared in the game since the XY—Ancient Origins expansion, from 2015.

The list of notable cards in the announcement:

  • 4 Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
  • 6 Pokémon ex
  • 6 Stadium cards, forming 3 Legendary Stadiums
  • 14 illustration rare cards
  • 17 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer cards
  • 6 special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards

On TCGplayer, the products are listed under the code ME06.

What are the Delta Reign dates?

These are the official dates:

  • October 24, 2026 — Play! Pokémon Prerelease tournaments start at participating independent retailers. PokeBeach reports they run until November 1.
  • November 5, 2026 — the set arrives in Pokémon TCG Live (iOS, Android, macOS and Windows), with login bonuses.
  • November 6, 2026 — tabletop release at participating retailers worldwide.

The date the cards become legal in official tournaments had not been published on the pages we checked.

What are Legendary Stadiums?

A Legendary Stadium is a Stadium made of two cards played as a pair, creating an extended illustration when placed side by side. According to The Pokémon Company, a booster pack that contains a Legendary Stadium includes both halves. The set has six of these cards, forming three Stadiums.

The idea recalls the LEGEND cards from the HeartGold & SoulSilver era, a comparison made by PokeBeach. Kyogre & Groudon LEGEND, from the Undaunted set (2010), for example, was printed on two cards, 87/90 and 88/90, which only worked together.

What does the Japanese version already show?

Delta Reign is based on Storm Emeralda (ストームエメラルダ), released in Japan on July 31, 2026, with 113 cards on TCGdex. PokeBeach reports that the English version should also include cards from the Japanese "MEGA Starter Decks". That has not been officially confirmed. The texts below come from the Japanese version, in our translation, and may change.

  • Mega Rayquaza ex — a Colorless Basic Pokémon with 280 HP. When played from your hand onto the Bench, it searches the top 4 cards of your deck for a basic Energy and attaches it to itself. Its attack does 50 damage for each Fire and Lightning Energy attached to your Pokémon.
  • Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex — have 350, 320 and 340 HP. Golurk does 300 damage, but only with 10 or more cards in hand; Malamar, 70 for each of the opponent's Benched Pokémon; Golisopod goes from 60 to 220 against an already damaged Active.

The three Japanese Legendary Stadiums change general rules, and they apply to both players:

  • The sea-floor one (伝説の海溝) doubles all HP healing.
  • The summit one (伝説の山頂) makes the opponent take one fewer Prize card when they Knock Out a Colorless Pokémon with an attack.
  • The lava-cave one (伝説の溶岩洞) removes the Abilities of all Evolution Pokémon in play.

There is also a regular Kyogre whose attack does 50 damage to each of the opponent's Benched Pokémon if a "Legendary" Stadium is in play. That Kyogre's illustration rare, according to PokeBeach, is cut from the English list and becomes the Elite Trainer Box promo card. An independent preorder guide confirms the promo.

How much does the Delta Reign preorder cost?

These are TCGplayer market prices on September 28, 2026, in U.S. dollars, for sealed English products. All are marked as presale, with shipping expected on November 6:

  • Elite Trainer Box (9 boosters) — US$135.53
  • Pokémon Center exclusive Elite Trainer Box (11 boosters) — US$599.92, with only 3 listings
  • Booster Box (36 boosters) — US$262.22, or US$7.28 per booster
  • Booster Bundle — US$80.46
  • 3-pack blister (Seel promo) — US$48.68
  • Build & Battle Box — no market price; the lowest listing was US$77.95

For comparison, on the same site and the same day:

  • Pitch Black Elite Trainer Box — US$71.93 (set released July 17, 2026)
  • Pitch Black Booster Box — US$190.10, or US$5.28 per booster
  • Chaos Rising Elite Trainer Box — US$67.63 (released May 22, 2026)
  • 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box — US$165.77 (released September 16, 2026)

By our math, the Delta Reign ETB on preorder costs 1.88 times the Pitch Black ETB today. The official suggested retail price did not appear on any official page we were able to open, so it is left out of this comparison.

What changes for buyers, sellers and collectors

  • Compare before you preorder. The prices above are marketplace preorder prices, not store prices. The Pitch Black and Chaos Rising ETBs are worth between US$67 and US$72 today on the same site.
  • Prerelease is the cheapest way to see the cards. Starting October 24, look for participating Play! Pokémon stores in your city.
  • Want the Kyogre promo? It comes in the Elite Trainer Box. The Pokémon Center-stamped version only comes in the exclusive ETB, which currently has few listings and a high price.
  • Have older Rayquaza or Kyogre cards? Before trading, see who buys and sells them at Rayquaza on Collector Union and Kyogre on Collector Union.

Our take

This section is opinion, based on the numbers above.

The Delta Reign preorder is expensive compared with the previous sets in the same series. In our view, that price reflects the wish to secure the product early more than the value of cards nobody has seen in English yet. Pitch Black and Chaos Rising, already in stores, show where a regular ETB from the series tends to settle. The 30th Celebration, an anniversary set, shows that a contested product can stay expensive after release. Anyone not in a hurry can wait for the prerelease and the first weeks of sales to decide.

In gameplay, Legendary Stadiums look designed to stay in play and change the pace of games. The summit Stadium pairs well with Mega Rayquaza ex itself, which is Colorless. The lava-cave one could shut down decks that rely on Abilities from Evolution Pokémon. All of this comes from the Japanese version: it is worth waiting for the official text before building a deck.
